BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty leaves Charlie Stayt red-faced with scathing advice live on air | The Sun

BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty left her co-presenter Charlie Stayt red-faced as she gave him awkward advice live on air.

The 47-year-old newsreader and journalist was covering the news that iconic gameshow Gladiators will be returning to telly 30 years since the first episode aired.

While both Naga and Charlie, 60, beamed about the programme's revival, he attempted his best impression.

As Charlie worked up the courage, he told viewers at home: "I'll try and do this justice…"

Clearly intrigued to see his impression, Naga demanded: "Come on!"

Charlie then said the famous catchphrase from the show: "Contenders! Ready? Gladiators! Ready?"

While fans of BBC Breakfast appeared to enjoy Charlie's impression, Naga, who was sitting right beside him on the show's iconic red sofa, wasn't impressed.

"Needs more oomph, Charlie," she simply told the broadcaster.

Naga's putdown didn't deter Charlie as he continued on with the programme, teasing that they'd be speaking to two former stars of the show.

The awkward exchange made fans take to social media, as one user tweeted: "Naga has a cob on".

BBC Breakfast airs from 6am on BBC One.
