Big Brother's Anna Nolan looks unrecognisable as she swaps being TV star to working behind the camera

SHE became a household name when she came in second place on the first ever series of Big Brother back in 2000.

But these days, Anna Nolan has taken a step away from the limelight and forged a hugely successful career behind the camera.

The star, now 51, was known for the being the lesbian nun, who kept the calm and peace in the house.

When she left the show, Anna found herself propelled into the limelight and gave up the life of a nun.

She initially worked in TV and was a co-presenter on The Afternoon Show as well as the host of The Great Irish Bake Off.

But she decided to trade that in and is now Head of Development at production company Coco Television.

She admits she used to deny being on the show but has had a change of heart recently.

Anna explained: "I used to say no a few years ago, but then I though oh why deny that part of me? Now I proudly say yes."

She revealed that none of them knew just how big the show would be, explaining: "We didn't have a clue it was having such an impact on the outside world.

"We were just irritated and annoyed by it, but we didn't know that anybody would be tuning in to watch it really. It was just something small in our world that we wanted to deal with."

Anna added: “Big Brother made me focus on where I wanted to go in life. I'd been a drifter for 30 years,"
