Coronation Street fans horrified as evil Harvey orders attack on his aunt Sharon

Coronation Street viewers were left horrified on Sunday evening as evil drug lord Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) ordered a brutal attack on his aunt Sharon Bentley (Tracie Bennett).

Rita Tanner's (Barbara Knox) foster daughter has spent weeks following her evil nephew's instructions by acting as his secret accomplice on the cobbles.

However, she decided that Harvey is going too far during the latest visit to Weatherfield.

Harvey, who is currently in prison, arranged for gunshots to be fired as a warning to Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson), who is his set to speak out against him in court.

Sharon rang Leanne to warn her that she's in danger but the latter ignored what she had to say and thought it was part of Harvey's plan to scare her.

Nobody was hurt from the shooting but the decision had upsetting consequences for Sharon, who was later beaten up by Harvey's gang member Reece as a punishment for helping Leanne.

Viewers were left devastated that Harvey would do such a thing to his own family member.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "I am actually fearing for Sharon!"

Another added: "Sharon Vs Harvey. She needs to be very careful that Hervey dosen't turn the tables on her."

A third person posted: "OMG is Harvey actually gonna kill Sharon now seriously?"

Coronation Street spoilers have revealed that Rita is left gobsmacked in upcoming scenes when she finds a helpless Sharon in her flat after the attack.

Sharon asks for £10,000 from Rita so that she can disappear and start afresh elsewhere. Rita calls the bank and arranges the transfer.

Later in the week, Harvey's trial finally gets under way and Leanne is first to enter the witness box.

She is determined to defy Harvey's threats and tell the truth, but as she stares her tormentor in the eye, will she really be able to go through with it?

Soon afterwards, Sharon is also called as a witness and provides her own damning evidence over how Harvey exploits vulnerable children as part of his drug dealing operation.

Back on the Street, Rita praises Sharon for doing the right thing.
