Coronation Street spoilers: Shona Ramsey’s fate sealed in heartbreaking clue you missed?
Shona (played by Julia Goulding) seemed to be on the road to recovery after doctors operated on her following the shooting during Coronation Street’s festive episode which left Robert Preston (Tristan Gemmill) dead. Unfortunately, a bleed left her in a coma and since then, her husband David (Jack P Shepherd) has been reluctant to leave her side, paranoid history is about to repeat itself. As her condition remains the same and medical professionals becoming less optimistic she will make a recovery, will Shona’s beloved have to make a heartbreaking decision which will lead to her demise on the ITV soap?
Tonight’s instalment saw David leave his wife’s side to attend the court hearing of his rapist Josh Tucker (Ryan Clayton), after being convinced by his family it was the best thing to do.
The distraught husband took to the stand to give evidence against his attacker, but when news reached him Shona’s condition had changed, he made a swift exit, which could be detrimental to his attacker’s sentence.
Back at the hospital, the hairdresser was told if his wife was to ever breathe on her own again, they would have to remove the assistance currently aiding her.
By his beloved’s side once more, the barber spoke with his brother Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) who tried to prepare his sibling for the worst, but could this scene have hinted David will seal his wife’s fate by turning off her life support machine?

Discussing the procedure to remove Shona’s breathing tubes, Nick said: “There’s other things to consider depending on what happens tomorrow.
“What if she can’t breathe?” he asked, to which his brother quickly hit back: “She’ll breathe,” as he tried to avoid the reality of the situation.
“Even if she can, you have to think about the quality of life she’d want,” the Underworld Factory boss commented.
Not wanting to consider the worst, David remarked: “I’m not doing this,” to which his older brother replied: “David, I know it’s hard, but if Shona’s unresponsive, you’re going to have some decisions to make.”
We’re going to walk out of here together
“Well, I won’t because she’s going to be fine,” the hairdresser hit back, adding: “We’re going to walk out of here together.”
Upcoming scenes will see David gather his wife’s friends and family to say their blessings before the breathing tubes are removed.
If the procedure is unsuccessful, will Nick’s words play on his brother’s mind and lead the heartbroken husband to accept his beloved may never breathe on her own again?
Could he give the go ahead for the doctors to turn off the life support machine completely which is keeping Shona alive?
