Corrie’s Jack P Shepherd gives Stephen Mulhern painful slap in Big Soap Quiz

Tonight saw eight of the most recognisable faces in the country get together for the Big Soap Quiz – four from Emmerdale and four from Coronation Street.

Representing Weatherfield were Jack P Shepherd, who plays David Platt, Audrey Roberts actress Sue Nicholls, Alexandra Mardell, who plays Emma Brooker, and Tyrone Dobbs star Alan Halsall.

Meanwhile, for Emmerdale, were Mandy Dingle star Lisa Riley, Mark Charnock, who plays Marlon Dingle, Nick Miles, who plays Jimmy King, and Victoria Barton actress Isabel Hodgins.

One round of the quiz saw the teams guess who was handing out the slaps in a number of iconic scenes.

But afterwards, Stephen asked Jack to stand up and come and demonstrate how to do a fake slap.

However there was definitely some contact, as Jack's slap left Stephen gobsmacked and holding his cheek.

Jack explained: "The trick is to not quite touch the skin, just go really fast."

Afterwards, Stephen admitted: "That really, really hurt."

The competition saw Team Emmerdale storm ahead in the rounds, which also included guessing some iconic soap stars.

The Coronation Street stars were given a montage of a mystery man making his way around the cobbles and peering inside some windows.

The team correctly guessed that the man was character Curly Watts, who was played by Kevin Kennedy.

Meanwhile, the Emmerdale players saw an older man wandering around the village, who they correctly guessed was Frazer Hines, who played Joe Sugden.

It ended up with Emmerdale winning with 29 points, while Coronation Street had 25 points.
