Dec, 45, was on hand to host another energetic instalment of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway with his co-host, Ant McPartlin, 45. The pair presented a number of segments, with the fan-favourite Happiest Minute Of The Week included in the evening’s schedule. However, as the ITV stars brought the feel-good moment to an end, Dec became very emotional after hearing why Hannah was nominated by her family to be surprised with a holiday.

After hearing the last story, Dec’s eyes filled with tears as he turned to his co-star and said: “I’m getting emotional.”

The pair then carried on with the rest of the programme as they welcome presenter Stephen Mulhern, 43, to the stage.

Viewers could see Dec was barely holding it together, trying to power through by reading the teleprompter to give him some distraction.

Taking to Twitter, viewers commented on the presenter’s reaction, with one writing: “We’re all crying happy tears, too, Dec #saturdaynighttakeaway.”

Another posted: “#SaturdayNightTakeaway #Happiestminute aww @antanddec. Dec, I always get emotional during the Happiest Minute segment too!”

“Aww, Dec getting emotional…glad I’m not the only one! #SaturdayNightTakeaway @antanddec @itvtakeaway,” a third shared.

Whilst a fourth added: “Oh gosh, Dec getting emotional on #SaturdayNightTakeaway had me going too! #happiestminuteoftheweek.”
