Doctor Who will be returning sometime this year and Jodie Whittaker’s character is said to be taking on her “biggest adventure” yet. The teaser trailer shows the Doctor and her companions back in action after months of Whovians begging for details. However, eagle-eyed fans have spotted what looks like a hidden message within the first teaser of the season.
With only a 43-second teaser trailer, fans weren’t given many details about what will happen in the upcoming season.
However, it looks like there is more in store for Doctor Who fans if they can figure out the cryptic clue that was hidden within the teaser.
At the bottom of the trailer, fans were surprised with a secret code ‘/mystery’ that took them to a dedicated BBC Doctor Who page.
Once there, fans were shown a puzzle on the site with instructions to “work together to solve the hiDden clues and reveal and password below. #FindTheDoctor.”
The uppercase letter D within the word ‘hidden’ may be the first clue for Whovians to find out what the password is and where the site will take them once solved.
Underneath, the words “It begins: 13.13.13” could also be spotted, which could indicate yet another clue for fans to try and work out.
So far, it doesn’t look as if anyone has cracked the code to this mysterious puzzle as many fans took to Twitter to find out what the mystery letter and numbers could mean.
Alongside the teaser trailer, it was announced Game of Thrones star Jacob Anderson would be joining the cast as a peculiar new character named Vinder.
Vinder will be a recurring character of the new season and will join forces with the Doctor and other companions Yaz (Mandip Gill) and Dan Lewis (John Bishop) for the highly anticipated episodes.
Speaking on his new role he explained: “Not only has a lifelong dream of mine now been fulfilled but to be playing a character as fun, adventurous and dynamic as Vinder is the cherry on top. This is very cool.
“The Doctor has been a part of my life forever and I always wanted to live in the Whoniverse.”
Although there has been no official announcement from the BBC that Jodie Whittaker will be leaving her role as The Doctor, fans have been guessing who the new Doctor may be when the time comes.

Doctor Who: Three names could replace Jodie Whittaker [VIDEO]
Making history as the first-ever female doctor, Jodie has been on the show for three years after joining the cast in 2017.
The average amount of time for Time Lord actors is around three series’ so it looks like Jodie could be leaving her time travelling adventures behind her soon.
Talking to The Telegraph she explained: “There’s something emotional, poetic and very humbling about being on the show because you’re a little tiny jigsaw piece of something that is so precious to so many people.”
Bookies have speculated and narrowed down their guesses to three potential celebrities to take the role as the newest Time Lord.
Olly Alexander, 31, leads the line-up with a 4/1 chance of replacing Jodie. Many fans had shown their love and support as they expressed they would love to see him take on this role.
Former Death In Paradise actor Kris Marshall is now a 6/1 in the line-up with Michaela Coel on his tail with 8/1 chances at being the new Time Lord.
Fans are going to have to wait until the return of the Doctor and her companions in season 13 to find out what adventures they will face and if there will be a new Time Lord travelling through space and time.
Doctor Who is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
