EastEnders’ explosive trailer teases Mel’s exit as she races Sharon in car chase

EastEnders have dropped a new explosive trailer which see's Mel Owen's blackmail threat come a dramatic end.

In Friday night's episode, viewers saw grieving EastEnders cast member Mel Owen (Tamzin Outhwaite) relish being mistaken for Louise Mitchell's (Tilly Keeper) unborn child's grandmother as she rushed the youngster to hospital.

The midwife assumed Mel was Louise's mother following the hospital dash and the blonde businesswomen didn't correct the error.

The unhinged character got emotional as she told Louise that she was heartbroken that she'd never be a grandmother following her son Hunter's s shock death earlier this year.

Mel has become obsessed with Louise, Keanu and the baby in recent weeks and is desperate for them to move to Portugal with her and Louise's mum Lisa Fowler (Lucy Benjamin).

Friday night's unsettling episode ended with a Mel kissing a baby scan and gushing "Grandma loves you".

The dramatic trailer released last night teased further drama as Louise and stepmother Sharon prepare for their join 18th and 50th birthday party.

Unbeknown to everyone expect Mel, Louise's boyfriend Keanu is the real father of Sharon's unborn baby following a steamy affair behind Phil Mitchell's back.

Mel has been blackmailing Sharon over the baby bombshell ever since Hunter's death.

Sharon is left frantic at the beginning of the the 30-second montage as Mel threatens to "Say a few words" at the join birthday party.

The expecting mother is later seen telling former lover Keanu: "She's going to blow the whole lot, me, you, the baby – everything."

Mel then is then seen staring at a photo of her dead son as best mate Lisa reveals: "She's still in a really bad place and every now and then she's going to lose it."

The clip then shows a quick glimpse of guests at the party looking horrified is followed by a shocked Louise holding her hand over mouth.

Mel is then seen racing a panicked Sharon while Keanu's voice can be heard shouting: "Just get to Phil, before she does."

It was revealed last night that Danny Walters, who plays Keanu, is leaving the BBC One soap after three years.

EastEnders boss Jon Sen added: "Keanu’s story is set to come to a dramatic and blistering conclusion in the near future as one of best kept secrets on the Square is finally revealed with devastating consequences.

A source told The Sun Online: "Keanu should know that secrets never stay secret in Walford and he’s been playing with fire for months.

"The truth is going to come out in spectacular fashion and bosses are promising that Keanu’s exit is going to be explosive."

Tamzin Outhwaite also confirmed her departure from the soap earlier this year.
