EastEnders' Phil Mitchell's attack sends shockwaves around Albert Square

Albert Square is set to be rocked by the news of Phil Mitchell’s (played by Steve McFadden) attack during tonight’s episode of EastEnders and residents quickly start to point fingers. As one person gets arrested, another resorts to shocking and dangerous lengths to cover their tracks.

The evening’s installment kicks off with Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) bumping into a frantic Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters). The scheming character acts surprised when he learns the police have held Keanu overnight for questioning, but his frustrations soon grow tenfold when DCI Morgan (Hannah Daniel) interrogates him again.

Meanwhile, Keanu later discovers that Phil added him into his will, giving him a motive to kill him.

Stunned by his findings, Keanu begins to panic that this could in fact link him to the attack as police may think the testament could have given him a motive to seek blood. Little does he know it was in fact Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) who smashed Phil over the head with a wrench.

After complaining to Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) for playing loud music and realising it was Janet, Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) is wracked with guilt.

As she explains what happened to Max Branning (Jake Wood), Ruby later gives Janet a gift to apologise. Meanwhile, overhearing Ruby and with Ollie on her mind, Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) overreacts leaving Ruby stunned.

Hubby Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) desperately tries to diffuse to row, causing Linda to bite her tongue and head home. However, a near miss occurs on the way home with Ollie, causing yet another clash.

Elsewhere in the Square, Patrick Trueman’s (Rudolph Walker) new wife Sheree (Suzette Llewellyn) makes herself a little too at home much to Denise’s (Diane Parish) annoyance.

However after some gentle words of persuasion from Patrick (honestly, this man does have a way with words), Denise backs down.

Meanwhile, Callum Highway (Tony Clay) struggles to write his vows and knowing how excited Whitney is to hear them only makes him feel worse.

It’s certainly not an episode to miss…

EastEnders airs tonight at 8pm on BBC One.
