EastEnders star Danny Dyer's new TV role after Mick exit
EastEnders star Danny Dyer is reportedly joining forces with his daughter Dani once again, but in a new E4 travel series.
After nearly a decade, the 44-year-old actor confirmed he will be leaving the BBC soap as Mick Carter – but don’t worry, he’s assured fans that his departure from Albert Square will be a ‘very powerful thing.’
Following his exit announcement, TV bosses have been turning to The Wall presenter with tempting offers, one of them being a stint on this year’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! which is set to return to Australia.
However, it looks like his first gig could see him reuniting with daughter Dani, who rose to fame on series four of Love Island, according to The Sun.
‘Nobody would have predicted this would have been his first move,’ an insider told the publication.
‘Even though he did say at the time he was keen to “try some other stuff,”‘ they added.
The creators of the upcoming show are also hoping Dani’s popularity will bring in a younger audience.
If confirmed, this wouldn’t be the first project the father and daughter duo have worked on. The pair starred in Nativity! The Musical in 2018 and signed up for Celebrity Gogglebox in the same year.
The 25-year-old reality star even got to act alongside Danny in EastEnders last year.
‘I’ve always been such a massive fan of the show,’ Dani said at the time. ‘I watch it every night, so to be a part of it was such an amazing opportunity.
‘I was really excited – me and my dad really work well together. We do our podcast and that’s always such a laugh, so to be acting alongside him really was fun and made it a lot easier for me.
‘Filming was so much fun! I was so nervous as I haven’t done acting in a while! But they made me feel so relaxed and I absolutely loved the director he was brilliant and really gave me some good advice,’ she added.
