EastEnders star to have reconstructive surgery after being trolled

EastEnders star Danniella Westbrook has opened up about the reconstructive surgery she’s set to have, which involves having a rib bone inserted into her cheek.

The actress, known for her role as Sam Mitchell in the BBC One soap, has said consistent trolling has impacted her decision to alter the way she looks.

Speaking to The Sun, Danniella explained: ‘People message me, saying, “you’re so ugly, you’re a junkie, you should just go and kill yourself”. I’ve also had messages saying they are glad I’m not coming back to EastEnders because no one wants me scaring their kids on the telly.’

‘Sometimes I wake up and think “I don’t want to die today but I don’t want to face the world either”.’

Danniella isn’t returning to EastEnders as actress Kim Medcalf will reprise the role as Sam Mitchell instead.

In the past, Danniella has vocalised her opinion over EastEnders asking Kim to return and has hinted future revelations will be revealed in her upcoming book.

Writing on Twitter towards the end of January, she said: ‘Wishing Kym the best of luck at @BBCEastenders.’

She added: ‘Yet again this poor woman has to recreate a Samantha Mitchell as close to my last two recent come backs on the square go smash it darling..x

‘But not to @bbceastenders my legal team will be in touch…’

She continued in a second tweet: ‘@bbceastenders to know why when I held the…@bbceastenders contract too the last two times the character bounced in &out on a ratings or stint.

For the record I was never sacked or dismissed and saw out both contracts one of them even being extended for episodes.’

The BBC declined to comment when contacted by Metro.co.uk at the time.

Danniella recently told OK! Magazine that because of the operations she’d currently undergoing, she wouldn’t have the time to reprise her role as Sam.
