EastEnders’ Whitney Dean (played by Shona McGarty) has had her ups and downs with relationships, but her recent fling ended when she dumped Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) after he became too controlling. After finding out his girlfriend, Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams), was pregnant, and alongside Whitney ending their relationship, Gray was left feeling furious. However, their turbulent relationship is set to come to a head again as Whitney finds out devastating secret, but will her past feelings for the Walford villain get in the way of exposing the truth?
In upcoming scenes, Gray wants to tell his children Mia Atkins (Mahalia Malcolm) and Mackenzie Atkins (Isaac Lemonius) about the pregnancy, but Chelsea reveals she isn’t ready just yet.
However, Chelsea is soon shocked to arrive home and find Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) and Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) moving her stuff into Gray’s.
They also inform her that Gray has allegedly told his children about the baby, leaving her feeling annoyed and let down.
Wanting to confront her boyfriend, Chelsea gears up to put Gray in his place however is soon distracted by the discovery of an engagement ring.
Later, Chelsea gets a call from Gray asking her to pick Mia up from school as she has fallen ill.
Spotting the engagement ring on Chelsea’s finger, Whitney congratulates the mum to be and adds she hoped she was sure about her decision.
Chelsea promises her she’s happy and knows what she is doing when it comes to Gray.
However, struggling to connect with his children, Chelsea asks Whitney to help her with Mia when she soon spots Chelsea is not a natural when it comes to caring for children.
Feeling bad for Chelsea, Whitney calls Gray’s work to let him know about Mia but is shocked to find out that he doesn’t work there anymore.
Later in the week, Chelsea and Gray discuss childminding, but he soon convinces her to look after Mia once again.
Not knowing Gray’s secret, Whitney listens in and asks Gray for the money he owes her, to which he tells her it should be cleared by next week.
At the market, Chelsea suggests Mia and she go on a shopping spree using Gray’s credit card to take her mind off feeling ill, and to start bonding with one another.
Whitney watches on, with Tiffany Butcher-Baker (Maisie Smith) advising her to be 100 percent sure before she confronts Gray about what she knows.
Later, Gray is working at the burger bar when he receives a call from Whitney and lies about his whereabouts, but she knows where he is.
She intercepts Mia and Chelsea as they arrive home from their shopping spree but is torn over whether to tell Chelsea the truth about Gray.
Will Whitney keep quiet for Gray?
Could Whitney’s interference lead her to danger?
Speaking on Chelsea and Gray’s relationship, Zaraah said: “I went straight to Di Parish [Diane], and said, ‘I haven’t paid my mortgage off yet!’ and she was like ‘Don’t worry too much – yet!’.
“I was excited because I knew it would mean some really gritty stuff to come, and I love working with Toby-Alexander Smith [Gray].”
