Ed Sheeran has a surprise role in Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker
Well, we didn't see this one coming.
Having already made an appearance in one fantasy series with a cameo in Game of Thrones, musician Ed Sheeran will soon cameo in the eagerly-anticipated Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker.
A new video that looks behind the scenes of the film has shown footage of Sheeran in costume as a stormtrooper on set.
So, don't go expecting to see his face on camera!
This will remind fans of the cameos by Daniel Craig, Prince William and Prince Harry in previous instalments.
Will we get a stromtrooper musical moment? Somehow we doubt it, but maybe the galaxy far far away needs a little acoustic number.
Meanwhile, Hamilton creator/star and His Dark Materials cast member Lin-Manuel Miranda can be seen with actress Naomi Ackie in the clip.
It would seem Miranda has a background role as a resistance member, alongside Ackie's new heroine Jannah.
Other major new characters for the film include Keri Russell as a figure from Poe Dameron's past named Zorri Bliss, along with Richard E. Grant as Allegiant General Pryde of the First Order.
Elsewhere, cute droid BB-8 finds a new friend in another droid named D-0.
The reveals comes as we also get a new clip from the final instalment in the Skywalker saga, which shows that the stormtroopers have a dangerous new ability.
How will Rey and the gang get out of this one?
Not long until we find out!
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is released in UK cinemas on December 19, 2019.
