BBC agricultural show Countryfile follows presenters Ellie Harrison, John Craven, Adam Henson, Matt Baker, Tom Heap, Anita Rani, and Helen Skelton as they visit farms and regions to uncover stories and traditions. Sunday’s special episode focused on lambing, and showed some emotional scenes.
The programme saw Ellie joining Adam and his team for 48 hours of hectic lambing action.
But there were some touch-and-go moments, and after stepping in to help a struggling sheep give birth, Ellie was distressed to see the ewe rejecting its baby.
Adam said: “Unlike the other ewe, she’s walked away.
“So I’ll just move the lamb over to her but you’ll hear she imitating lambs.”

Ellie was also pleased to see the mother coming back to her lamb. She added: “It was quite distressing seeing her walk away from it.”
Watching the animals reunite, Adam said: “That’s absolutely perfect.

“She’s tired – she just yawned.
“The miracle of birth is just extraordinary, and I’ve seen thousands of lambs born and every one is special.”
