Emmerdale fans perplexed by Cain barn door plot hole during Moira apology scene
Emmerdale fans were left scratching their heads during Thursday evening's episode, as Cain Dingle failed to open the bar door – seemingly forgetting he had a crowbar in his possession.
Cain (Jeff Hordley) and his ex-wife Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) found themselves trapped in the barn after her wicked brother Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) locked them inside, before running back to the village.
Even though Cain had a number of tools inside the giant shed, including a crowbar, the Emmerdale hardman still struggled to break down the wooden door.
Instead, he and Moira were forced to discuss the breakdown of their marriage, with the Scottish farmer begging for forgiveness.
However, watching from home, viewers were left distracted by Cain's toolbox, with many pointing out Cain hadn't tried hard enough to batter down the door.
One said: “All those tools cain has like a crowbar but cannot open a wooden gate. I'm off to bed…. night.”
“Cain hasn't worked out that all the door hinges are on his side of the door, and he's got a massive crowbar,” wrote a second.
And a third penned: “Cain Dingle in a barn, with tools and a bag of assorted weapons, can't get out of wooden doors.”
While a fourth pointed out: “Cain Locked up in a barn he can use his rubber crowbar to escape #Emmerdale.”
Moira tried to make amends, letting Cain know she didn't want a divorce, despite having cheated on him with Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter).
She pleaded: "I really really love you. Look me in the eye and tell me that you don't love me."
Cain responded coldly, shutting Moira down by saying: "You destroyed our marriage and no amount of excuses can change that.
"I trusted you and you broke my heart."
All seemed lost for the former lovebirds, as Mackenzie unlocked the barn and released them.
Moira was stricken by Cain's response, realising she had ruined their relationship completely – only for Cain to rush to the farm at sunset.
In emotional scenes, Moira climbed out of the tractor, as Cain confessed his love for her.
Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7pm on ITV, with a second helping on Thursdays at 8pm.
