Emmerdale's Max Parker will reportedly be hitting the big time in Hollywood with a major new gig on an upcoming series.

The talented star left the popular ITV soap back in mid-June after two years in a bid to take his career to the next level.

And it has now been claimed that the Luke Posner actor has landed a dream acting gig in Vampire Acadamy, which is produced by The Vampire Diaries' Julie Plec and will see a global audience when it airs on US streaming service Peacock.

A source has told The Sun: "His role is being kept hush hush, but it's a good sign Max has avoided the soap star curse so soon after leaving the Dales."

The new series, which is currently filming in Spain, is based on the novel of the same name, and it was previously adapted into a movie in 2014 starring Zoey Deutch, Sarah Hyland and Claire Foy.

OK! has contacted a representative for Max for further comment.

Max left Emmerdale in June with a source telling The Sun at the time: "Max was never going to stay on the soap for years."

It was continued: "He's ambitious and a talented guy – he's already auditioning for new roles and excited for the future."

They added that the door may be left open for him to return in the future.

Max left the series on an awkward love triangle storyline with Victoria Sugden and village newcomer Ethan Anderson.

Since joining the series, Max had become a fan favourite and even found love among the cast – dating Kris Mochrie, who plays his on-screen brother.

The couple has been together for the past two years, moving into a swanky pad in Manchester earlier this year.
