Emmerdale's Katherine Dow Blyton admits 'flawed' Harriet 'isn't the best vicar'
Emmerdale star Katherine Dow Blyton admits her character Harriet Finch is ‘not the world’s best vicar’.
Viewers have seen Harriet struggle internally after helping Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) cover up the murder of crooked copper DI Malone (Mark Womack).
The actress feels the troubled woman of faith ‘makes mistakes’ like everyone else – although this is a pretty huge mistake to make.
Speaking on Lorraine on Tuesday, Katherine said: ‘She’s not the world’s best vicar. She makes mistakes, she’s human, but this is the worst thing she could have done.
‘She’s great, she’s got to snog Cain. She’s good fun – although this is not so much fun, it’s not gonna win her any prizes. She is a vicar and she is flawed.’
The soap star also touched on how everyone is staying safe on set, including how they managed to pull off the moment Harriet thought she had killed Malone by whacking him over the head.
Katherine explained: ‘It was a bit of a worry because I couldn’t see how it was gonna work, but Duncan Foster directed it, and obviously all the camera guys and the crew and everything had worked it out brilliantly.
‘So that was a two metre distanced crack on the head with a kettle which I actually think looked like I was cracking him over the head with a kettle. So they did very well.’
