Exactly When You Can Watch Every Episode of ‘House of the Dragon,’ the New ‘Game of Thrones’ Prequel

It feels like it’s been legit 84 years (insert Titanic GIF here), but one of the many rumored Game of Thrones spinoff series, House of the Dragon, is finally hitting our screens. This new series is a prequel to the one we’ve already seen, set 200 years before the events of the original Thrones, and it follows the Targaryen family and their journey to the Iron Throne. It’s based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” but apparently not the whole book, just some parts. (Confusing? Yes.) Before you start looking for every Easter egg you possibly can, start plotting your theories on a board like that guy from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, you probably need to know exactly how to stream this thing. We’re here to help.

The first season has ten episodes, and they air at 9 p.m. EST on HBO proper and they are available to stream on HBO Max at that same time. The catch is that if you live on the West Coast, you can watch the episodes on HBO Max before they’ll air on HBO in your time zone. How does that work? I’m not sure! But I’m giving you the information nonetheless. Here’s when you can watch every episode.

Episode 1: Sunday, August 21

Episode 2: Sunday, August 28

Episode 3: Sunday, September 4

Episode 4: Sunday, September 11

Episode 5: Sunday, September 18

Episode 6: Sunday, September 25

Episode 7: Sunday, October 2

Episode 8: Sunday, October 9

Episode 9: Sunday, October 16

Episode 10: Sunday, October, 23

With any luck, we’ll come out of this finale a little less angry than the Thrones finale. Godspeed to us all.
