Gino DAcampo fuming as Gordon Ramsay tells him he prefers Greek food to Italian

Gino D'Acampo was left fuming at Gordon Ramsay when the two famous chefs got chatting about food – and Gordon savagely snubbed Italian dishes to his face.

ITV's Gordon, Gino & Fred Go Greek graced our TV screens for the first time on Monday night (27 September), which meant the food-loving trio were back on another road trip.

This time, Gordon, Gino and First Dates maître d' Fred Siriex were travelling around Greece – and visiting the nation's gorgeous islands in search of the best food around.

However, it wasn't long before relations turned sour between the TV presenters, because Gordon Ramsay snubbed Italian food right in front of the Italian star.

Gordon told Gino that he thought Greek food was better than Italian cuisine, as the stars sat back on a lush boat cruising on the ocean.

In the awkward scenes that followed, Gordon and Gino ended up getting into a rather heated food-related row as Fred decided to take Gordon's side.

Gordon told Gino: "Greece never gets the look-in that France has or the Italians.

"Honestly, I think Greek cuisine is better than Italian cuisine."

Gino looked absolutely shocked at Gordon's statement, proceeding to put down his glass of champagne in anger before replying: "Oh you're not serious!"

He then tried to rope Fred in on his side as he waved his arms in protest, crying: "Say something!"

Sadly for Gino, Fred agreed with the Kitchen Nightmares star, saying:"

Fans on social media, on the other hand, were left in stitches at Gino's raging reaction, with many taking to Twitter to laugh about the row.

One user wrote: "ginos reaction when gordon said greek cuisine is better than italian lol…"

A second fan penned: "@Ginofantastico face when @GordonRamsay said Greek food was better than Italian. He is totally correct of course."

A third commented: "@GordonRamsay saying what we all know is true, Greek cuisine is better than Italian" as they attached a laughing-face emoji.

A fourth added: "@GordonRamsay and suddenly you angered every Italian on the planet" as they attached a set of laughing-face emojis.

The first episode showed the trio travelling around Crete before heading to the beautiful hot spot of Santorini, finishing in Mykonos.

Gordon cooked his pals lobster, and all three stars tried their best to make bougatsa, a local pastry treat, with the help of chef Joanna who had a sweet spot for Gordon.

Gordon, Gino and Fred Go Greek airs Mondays at 9pm on ITV.
