Giovanna, 35, has been acting as leader of the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! camp for several days now and her appearance on the show was coined with the interview she conducted with Kate Middleton, 38. The Duchess spoke on the campmate’s Happy Mum Happy Baby podcast earlier this year before the coronavirus pandemic hit the UK and prior to social distancing measures being implemented. This was the first time the member of the Royal Family had ever spoken on a podcast, but it seems the ITV reality show contestant had to work on her etiquette before the interview.

During Monday’s episode, Giovanna was seen talking with fellow campmate and former EastEnders star Shane Richie, 56, about the historic interview.

The mother-of-three told the soap actor how she thought the Duchess was divine and elegant when they got to meet.

It was planned that Kate was going to speak with the podcast host for 45 minutes, but the two women needed up talking for an hour and a half.

Reflecting on her discussions with the member of the Royal Family, the contestant said in the Telegraph: “What a complete career high.

“Just two mums nattering away but in true mum fashion and by the end, we were drinking cold tea,” she explained before admitting she hadn’t realised what to call Prince William’s, 38, wife.

Discussing the error, she said: “I would call her Kate Middleton before (the interview) but they all call her Katherine or The Duchess.

“So now, I’m kinda like ‘the Duchess, or Catherine’,” she remarked, before going on to joke she might have “fallen in love” with Kate.

Shane made the quip that his fellow campmate might have had more of a “girl crush” on Prince William’s wife.

Following the Duchess’ first-ever podcast interview, Giovanna has spoken about why it was so important to speak with the mother-of-three about her own experiences raising children.

Appearing on ITV’s Lorraine, the podcast host said: “We were talking about lack of sleep – literally, it just gets you, it takes over.

“The amount of work she’s done in Early Years [is brilliant], and that’s the amazing thing about the podcast, you really understand how passionate she is and how much she cares for the Early Years.

“She’s really wanting to listen to people and what they think,” she continued, going on to reveal she “couldn’t sleep” the night before the interview.

The historic moment was recorded in January during the Duchess’ visit to a London Early Years Foundation nursery in Stockwell.

Talking about her own guilt as a mother during the interview, the Duchess said: “Anyone who doesn’t [have guilt] as a mother is actually lying!

“You know even this morning, coming to the nursery visit here – George and Charlotte were like ‘Mummy, how could you possibly not be dropping us off at school this morning?’ But no it’s a constant challenge.

“You hear it time and time again from mums, even mums who aren’t necessarily working and aren’t pulled in the directions of having to juggle work life and family life.

“And always sort of questioning your own decisions and your own judgements and things like that, and I think that starts from the moment you have a baby!”

Aside from her work with the royals, it seems Giovanna is one of the favourites to win this year’s series of I’m A Celebrity.

At the moment, she stands at 4/1 to become Queen of the Castle according to Coral bookmakers, matching the chances of Vernon Kay, 46.

However, storming ahead in front of both of them is BBC Radio 1 presenter Jordan North, 30, who leads the way at 5/4.

“Jordan remains the hot favourite to win I’m a Celeb as we begin to see campmates leaving the castle,” Coral spokesperson Harry Aitkenhead said.

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! continues weeknights at 9pm on ITV.
