‘Give them a break!’ GMB slammed over ‘relentless’ Meghan Markle and Prince Harry coverage

Piers Morgan criticises Meghan Markle's coffee investment

Meghan Markle was the topic of conversation on Good Morning Britain today as Piers Morgan, Susanna Reid, Andrew Pierce and Kevin Maguire discussed her latest business venture. The Duchess of Sussex invested money into an oak-milk latte brand Clevr Blends and sent a package of the products to Oprah Winfrey to promote. However, GMB viewers weren’t pleased to hear Morgan’s opinion on the matter.

Morgan began: “The Duchess of Sussex has invested in a vegan latte company which sells oatmeal lattes.

“And then of course she sent a big basket of it to Oprah Winfrey who promoted it on TV in America thus probably quadrupling Ms Markle’s investment immediately.

“I’ve got nothing wrong with a bit of commercial zeal, a bit of entrepreneurism, using your celebrity mates to do it.

“However she does remain the Duchess of Sussex and it comes back to this ongoing sore.”

“Sources close to the Palace have said its not happy about this overt, commercial activity,” Morgan added.

“We wouldn’t allow it if it was a working royal here. What do you think of it?”

Pierce replied: “It’s tacky, that’s what it is. It’s royals for rent, royals for hire.

“I remember Prince Michael of Kent many years ago was in America flogging various bits of royal memorabilia on American TV programmes.

“It was stopped within days by the Queen. She won’t stop Meghan Markle from doing this because they are a law unto themselves.

“But I think as that review continues into how well they are behaving as royals, that review will be published in March by Buckingham Palace, this sort of thing will speed up calls for them to be stripped of their titles of HRH.

“HRHs should not be flogging coffee, even if it is environmentally friendly.”

“They don’t the use HRH but they do use Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” Morgan optioned out.
