GMB’s Charlotte Hawkins fuels Strictly’s Ranvir and Giovanni ‘romance’ rumours

Charlotte Hawkins has said, "watch this space" as she hints at a romance between Strictly Come Dancing's Ranvir Singh and Giovanni Pernice.

The 45-year-old Good Morning Britain star reportedly admitted that Ranvir is "thrilled" by the speculation as she prepares for her sixth week in the competition.

Charlotte, who was partnered with dancing professional Brendan Cole on Strictly in 2017, revealed she is "so proud" of how well Ranvir is doing on the show.

She also spoke about the speculation that was sparked further after Ranvir and Giovanni's passionate Argentine Tango during Saturday's episode.

Charlotte told Entertainment Daily: "She's been quite thrilled about all the rumours. Who knows, we'll have to watch this space to see what happens romance wise."

The journalist also gave an insight into what doing the show is actually like, and said she "can imagine" people can "fall in love with somebody along the way".

She explained: "I think the thing is you spend a lot of time stepping into a different world, stepping into a magical sparkly world, and for some people, they kind of don't want to leave that behind.

"You do spend a lot of time with the people you're not only dancing with but the other dancers, the other celebrities as well, so I can imagine for some people they fall in love with that, or fall in love with somebody along the way."

Charlotte referred to the 'Strictly curse' as she teased: "We'll wait and see if it strikes this year."

In an interview with OK! Magazine, Ranvir addressed the rumours as she said: "If I got hit by the curse, it would be a bl***y miracle!"

She exclaimed: "Oh my God, that would be hilarious. Do you know most of the dancers were born in 1990 or something? I'm old enough to be their mother.

"It's very optimistic and complimentary that anyone would think I would be struck by the curse", the journalist added.

Ranvir impressed the Strictly Come Dancing judges and viewers at home with her scorching Argentine Tango on Saturday night.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 7.15pm on BBC One.
