For the past two years, I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! has been held at a Welsh castle due to issues with travelling, caused by COVID-19. So ITV viewers have loved seeing the unforgettable reality series return to its usual homing ground in the Australian outback. With the camp starting off with 11 celebrities, there were just three remaining and it was up to the public to decide who deserves to be this year’s winner.

From a shower of cockroaches and disgusting dunking challenges to eating kangeroo penis and chugging down vomit fruit, I’m A Celebrity has kept fans thoroughly entertained this time around.

There was plenty of controversy at the start, especially following the entrance of former Health Secretary Matt Hancock who was grilled by his fellow contestants regarding his actions during the pandemic.

While there have been various disagreements during their time in the camp, all of the celebrities have grown closer as a team because of their shared experience.

But only one of them could be crowned the winner and, as always, it was up to Ant and Dec to reveal the results.

Earlier in the episode, Ant and Dec announced that Matt Hancock had come in third place.

He told the Geordie duo that he was “grateful” for the opportunity and was greeted on the bridge by his aide-turned-girlfriend Gina Coladangelo.

This just left footballer Jill Scott and Hollyoaks star Owen Warner fighting for the crown.

But in the end, it was revealed that the 35-year-old Lioness had received the majority of the votes and therefore, is this year’s I’m A Celebrity winner.

Jill was presented with the jungle crown and sceptre by fourth place celebrity Mike Tindall who brought her in for a big hug.

When asked by the hosts how she was feeling, Jill said: “I just can’t believe it. I think I’m going to owe my grandmother a lot of money for this!”

A clearly emotional Jill went on to describe how “absolutely incredible” the rest of her campmates were throughout the show, stating they were “one big team”.

She was then greeted by her girlfriend of about six years Shelly Unitt at the end of the bridge.
