Jeremy Vine viewers rip into 'nasty' Ann Widdecombe for 'talking rubbish' – raging 'why is she still on TV?!' | The Sun

JEREMY Vine viewers have ripped into Ann Widdecombe following her appearance on the Channel 5 show this morning.

Furious viewers took to social media to slam the former MP and accused her of "talking rubbish".

She was part of the panel on this morning's Jeremy Vine show.

The show discusses the latest news and issues affecting country as well as hearing from panellists to get their views and opinions on the stories of the day.

But 74-year-old Ann, who previously was a Member of Parliament for Maidstone and The Weald, stirred up viewers with her straight to the point comments.

One of the topics on today's show was the debate around the legalisation of drugs and alcohol, the rising cost of bills and the current winter plan for the NHS.

Taking to social media to disagree with Widdecombe, one viewer said: "Ann W talks rubbish. I visit Portugal regularly, where soft drugs have been legal for years, and drug related crime is virtually non-existent."

Another asked: "why is widdecomb still on t.v.?"

"They invite a GP on to explain the situation as it is now, and yet #jeremyvine and Ann W keep arguing with her. Just let her speak."

"She's such a know-all," added a fourth viewer.

While a fifth said: "Ann Widdecombe is a nasty piece of work. Absolutely horrible."

However, some viewers did agree with the divisive figure, as one said: "Ann Widdecombe is brilliant man."

"All you Lefties would love Ann Widdecombe to be one of yours, she talks so much sense. Makes a nice change for this show," added another.

Ann is no stranger to TV, having competed on Strictly Come Dancing and appearing on Celebrity Big Brother in 2018.

Jeremy Vine airs weekdays on Channel 5 from 9:15am.
