Jessie J replaced by Paloma Faith on The Voice Kids in ITV shake-up
Jessie J has announced that she’s stepping down from The Voice Kids – with Paloma Faith taking her swivel chair for the next series.
Paloma will be joining Pixie Lott, Danny Jones and will.i.am, with Emma Willis returning as the host.
The Upside Down singer was previously a judge on the main show back in 2016.
On the news, Paloma enthused: ‘It’s going to be so much fun working with these young singers, helping them find their voices and be the best they can be.
‘From what I’ve seen; although they’re small, their voices are often mighty and can give most adults a run for their money!
‘In short, I’m massively excited to be joining The Voice Kids so bring it on!’
Filming will begin in December, with the next run launching officially on ITV in the new year.
Jessie cheered on the star, who said as she leaves the show: ‘I had the most amazing experience with ITV, the crew, the Coaches and of course my team on The Voice Kids this year. I am proud of everything my team achieved.
‘I made unforgettable memories and learnt so much! But for now I am going to be focusing on making music, so sadly I am saying goodbye to the show and big red chair this year.
‘Sending so much LOVE to everyone taking part this year. And remember… NERVES ARE GOOD, EMBRACE THEM.’
Paloma has a serious challenge on her hand as the rest of the judges’ fight for the championship honour – which is currently being held by McFly star Danny.
‘It’s going to be amazing returning to my big red chair as the reigning champion Coach!,’ he cheered. ‘Last year was brilliant and I was so chuffed that Sam won the competition – c’mon Team Danny!
‘I can’t wait to discover brand new voices this year and it’s great news that Paloma is joining the show alongside will, Pixie and myself.
‘She’ll bring fun as well as that incredible talent. I’m looking forward to sharing the stage with her.’
Will added: ‘I’m looking forward to getting back and putting together the Team Will Class of 2020.
‘It’s great to be reuniting with Paloma Faith this season too – the kids are going to love her!’
‘Paloma is no stranger to the red chair and I have no doubt she’s going to be brilliant,’ said Pixie.
‘I’m so looking forward to recruiting some talented youngsters to join Team Pixie.’
The Voice Kids returns in 2020 on ITV.
