Kate Ferdinand says being stepmum to Rio's kids is HARDER than looking after a baby as 'they give me sleepless nights'

KATE Ferdinand has said being a stepmum to Rio’s three children can be harder than looking after her son.

The 30-year-old took on Lorenzo, 15, Tate, 13, and 10-year-old Tia, when she met the former footballer, 43, and went on to have Cree, one, with him.

Speaking about the juggle of different ages on the Parenting Hell podcast, Kate admitted: “It is a mad dynamic.”

The former Towie star continued:  “Everyone think babies are harder but for me the baby doesn’t keep you awake, well they sometimes keep you awake at night.

“But…the teenagers give you the sleepless nights. The babies just drive you mad all day.”

Kate added: “Everyone thinks they get easier with age but with the kids different age just gives you different problems.”

Kate Ferdinand says she’d ‘have a nervous breakdown if I had another baby’

Kate started dating Rio Ferdinand in 2017 – two years after his wife Rebecca Ellison died after a battle with cancer.

She admitted that Rebecca had big shoes to fill and it was tough at the beginning.

"When I look back it was hard. But I have got this mentality, I love Rio and if I love Rio then this has to work,” Kate said.

"I want to be part of everything. I wouldn’t want to be a half hearted step mum. If I love him and the kids I need to be part of everything."
