Katie Price's nanny 'gave a witness statement to cops after attack left star in hospital'

KATIE Price's former nanny is said to have "given a witness statement" to the police after an attack which left her in hospital, it has been claimed.

The former glamour model was taken to hospital and cops were called to her home after an incident in August 2021 where she claimed an "attacker" broke in.

Katie, 43, told police she had been the victim of a violent attack and was driven to a friend's house nearby where she was attended to by paramedics.

Essex Police told The Sun: "A man arrested following reports of an assault in Little Canfield on 23 August has been released under investigation."

Now, The Mirror have claimed that the mother-of-five's former nanny has given a statement to police as a potential witness to the attack.

The person who allegedly assaulted the media personality has been bailed three times before they were released under investigation.

The suspect was held after the TV star was allegedly punched in the face at her Essex home last month – leaving her bruised and with a fractured jaw.

After being arrested on August 23, the man was released on bail until September 20, then re-bailed in October as the police continued to investigate.

A source told The Sun at the time: "Police have asked for more time to get to the bottom of exactly what went on.

"Investigators will continue to look into the night in question with a variety of forms of evidence to establish what happened before they make a decision whether they will charge the man in question or not."

Mum-of-five Katie was pictured with a bruised face and cut lip after she was allegedly punched in the attack.

Katie told The Sun: "I’ve got a big bruise, my face is all puffy, and I went to hospital. I’m still all dazed. I’m devastated. I’ve told police that I was assaulted, and am in shock that this happened.

“I ran away after being punched — I ran to Harvey’s house nearby and have now done damage to my feet, which I previously injured. I can’t say any more.”

Last month, Katie vowed to have a drama-free 2022 after a nightmare year that saw her dramatically spared jail after crashing her BMW.

Promising to have the "greatest year of my life" she said she was going to "smash it" in 2022.

She wrote: "22 is my lucky number so my focus is to make it a drama free and actually have some good luck. With all my new ventures and ideas I will smash it."

Katie had been facing Christmas in prison for for drink-driving while disqualified before being sentenced earlier this month.

But because she went to rehab and complied with a deferral – even while on holiday in Las Vegas – her sentence was reduced below the custody threshold.

At Crawley magistrates’ court, District Judge Amanda Kelly admitted the public would be “appalled”.

She added: “Your actions on that night were incredibly selfish. When you chose to get behind the wheel of the car that night, you showed no consideration for others. You could have killed someone’s child, partner, parent or friend."

Katie spent Christmas with her mum and three eldest children – Princess, 14, and Junior, 16, who she shares with ex Peter Andre, and Harvey, 19, from a brief relationship with footballer Dwight Yorke.
