Louise Minchin says quizzes are aspect of TV career that will always scare her

Louise Minchin might be a seasoned journalist and TV presenter, but there are aspects to her broadcasting career that still manage to frighten her.

But surprisingly the star, who is rumoured to be stepping up for the 2021 series of I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! at Gwrych Castle in Wales, dished that her one fear might not be anything to do with Bushtucker Trials.

Instead, she has dished that TV quizzes are the one thing able to strike fear into her heart.

It comes after Louise appeared on the celebrity version of ITV quiz show The Chase, in which four contestants go up against a single Chaser.

She was up against The Dark Destroyer – AKA Shaun Wallace – along with Scott Mills, Gareth Malone and Glenn Hoddle.

Explaining her fear, Louise shared her joy at having raised a whopping £24,000 for 5K Your Way, Move Against Cancer – a parkrun group which raises money for people living with cancer and their families.

Posting a snap of her in a bright blue fundraising t-shirt to her Instagram account, Louise wrote: "Just to say I know everyone at @movecharity @5kyourway is incredibly excited about the £24,000 that is going to them after #TheChase last night and it will make a massive difference to people affected by cancer.

"I am over the moon that my top team managed win by the skin of our teeth, but it still doesn’t change my mind about quizzes! They scare me and always will."

Her fans immediately turned out in the comments section to show Louise their support, as one wrote: "Loved you on #TheChase and on Richard Osman’s House of Games. It was so close last night."

Another penned: "You did fantastic, the whole pub was cheering you on!"

As another loyal supporter followed up: "You're a very inspiring person Louise, you have a heart of gold."

Louise’s team managed to scoop an impressive £74,000 in total against Shaun.

She was clearly emotional on Sunday night as she posted a snap of her Chase appearance on Instagram, writing: "Oh my GOSH I am still totally overexcited!! We went and won £74,000 with milliseconds to go.

"THANK YOU to my awesome teammates @realscottmills and @malonegareth you were amazing and also @realglennhoddle.

"My share of the ££ goes to @5kyourway who do brilliant work helping people affected by cancer."
