Love Island 2020 hunk Mike Boateng’s brother already has a reality TV past

Love Island 2020 is set to explode on to our screens this weekend with a fresh set of singletons looking for love in the South African sun.

Last summer we saw Strictly Come Dancing star AJ Pritchard's brother Curtis Pritchard enter the Spanish villa, and this series will see another BBC star's sibling in search for romance.

Newbie Mike Boateng has revealed that his older brother Samuel competed to become Lord Sugar's business partner on The Apprentice in 2016.

Samuel made it all the way to week 11 before getting fired by tycoon Alan Sugar.

Police officer Mike, 24, is also mates some with high profile footballers having played the sport himself to a high level.

Speaking ahead of his stint on the ITV2 dating show, Mike said: "I know a few footballer friends from my football days.

"Dominic Calvert-Lewin played with me at Sheffield United.

"My brother, Samuel, was on The Apprentice a few years ago."

Confident Mike, from London, rates himself an eight out of 10 and says his eyes can see straight into a girl's soul.

Discussing his decision behind going into the famous villa, he said: ""I’m going in to the villa to find love.

"If that means stepping on a few toes, burning a few bridges and finding the love of my life, I’m willing to do it.

"I can have a bit of a wandering eye, but I’m not going to wander for the sake of it.

"I’ve always had pretty long term relationships."

The unlucky in love hunk joked that all his previous relationships comes to an end and opened up about an awkward date.

Mike explained: "A date arrived and she didn’t look like her pictures."

"She worked in an old people’s home and someone had thrown up on her shoulder at work, so she had that sick smell on her.

"I gave her a chance and then left after three minutes."

The singleton admitted he preferred low-key dates to all out luxury and will bring some romance to villa.

This Morning star Rochelle Humes' sister Sophie Piper is also amongst this year's Winter Love Island 2020 line-up.

Love Island returns to ITV2 on Sunday at 9pm
