Love Island bosses under fire over huge change to series as show is bombarded with Ofcom complaints | The Sun
LOVE Island has found itself in hot water with Ofcom again after a string of complaints over its newest twist.
The broadcasting watchdog has been inundated with complaints over the ITV2 show this year already, with a shocker moment proving not a favourite with fans.
Last week, Love Island stirred the pot by surprising the islanders with a surprise visit from host Maya Jama.
It was revealed viewers had secretly been voting for their least compatible islanders, giving Olivia Hawkins and Maxwell Samuda the boot.
However, for the first time in the show's history, the early exit came with its own benefit – as Olivia and Maxwell were given the ability to axe two more contestants.
As their parting shot, Olivia and Maxwell took Claudia Fogarty and Keanan Brand home with them.

For some viewers, the move was too much and they weren't happy with the latest twist.
As a result, 99 people filed complaints to Ofcom over the programme-makers giving them this power.
On top of that, a further 47 complaints were made related to Olivia’s behaviour before her exit, with viewers taking exception to her arguments with Jessie Wynter.
The new twist comes as the finale draws ever-closer – with a new winner being crowned next Monday, March 13.
