The latest trailer for Netflix’s smash hit Biblical drama concludes with a shocking face off between Lucifer Morningstar (played by Tom Ellis) and his romantic and professional partner, Chloe Decker (Lauren German). While some Lucifer fans speculate what has turned the pair against each other, others have been more concerned with how the mortal Chloe is able to take down her immortal boyfriend.
Former detective Chloe Decker seems to have gained superstrength in the official trailer for Lucifer season six.
The sneak peek concludes with a game-changing twist when it’s revealed that Chloe will try to kill Lucifer at some point in the next instalment.
She proceeds to show off some impressive combat skills before pinning her boyfriend to the ground with what appears to be the Flaming Sword aimed at his chest.
Once the new trailer dropped on YouTube, fans have been trying to figure out where Chloe got the strength to take on God’s wayward son in one-on-one fisticuffs.
After going through the scene frame-by-frame, some viewers are convinced the ex-cop is holding some sort of magical artefact granting her immense strength.
She is already in possession of Lilith’s ring of immortality, but could she have also stolen Amenadiel’s (DB Woodside) necklace?
Several fans pointed out this key detail in a recent thread on Reddit speculating about the trailer’s biggest talking point.
One user commented: “I’m pretty sure Chloe is holding on to Amenadiel’s necklace which is giving her super strength.”
“I think Maze taught her how to fight, which she is using against Lucifer. Just a guess though.”
It’s hard to tell in the fast-paced action scene, but Amenadiel’s celestial jewellery could be giving Chloe the kick she needs to withstand Lucifer’s strength.
However, the events of Lucifer’s fourth season could complicate this theory somewhat.
In the episode ‘Super Bad Boyfriend’, Amenadiel befriends Caleb Mayfield (Denny Love), an LA teen who is wrongly accused of murder.

Amenadiel decides to leave his necklace as collateral for the money he owes drug dealer Tahir (Antwon Tanner), who kills him when he’s eventually set free.
The distraught angel leaves his necklace with Caleb’s corpse, indirectly giving Lucifer’s twin brother Michael the final key to retrieve the powerful Flaming Sword.
The location of his necklace is currently unknown, but new villain in town Rory (Brianne Hildebrand) could have enchanted Chloe to track it down and kill Lucifer on her behalf.
Then again, there are also plenty of fans who are convinced Lucifer and Chloe’s fight scene is nothing more than a smokescreen.
One viewer said: “It could be that they’re practising for something, faking something, whatever — the context isn’t given here.
“He probably didn’t ‘see it coming’ that she could best him in a fight, even a fake one.”
Scenes from the next season reveal Chloe has been taking fighting lessons from Lucifer’s demon friend Mazikeen (Lesley-Ann Brandt), so the misleading trailer stinger could simply be another round of practice.
Season six is dropping on Netflix in less than a month, so all will be revealed soon.
Lucifer season 6 will be released on Friday, September 10 on Netflix.
