Nancy Xu is one of the breakout stars of Strictly Come Dancing 2021 and she has been partnered with Rhys Stephenson. The pro dancer and CBBC presenter jumped with joy when they met each other for the first time, and they are excited to hit the dancefloor in the BBC series. Express.co.uk has all you need to know about Nancy and her dancing career.

Who is Nancy from Strictly Come Dancing?

Nancy is a 30-year-old professional dancer who made her debut on the show back in 2019.

This year, she will be impressing the judges with CBBC star Rhys Stephenson, who said he was delighted to be Nancy’s first-ever partner.

Nancy specialises in Latin and she was a finalist in the Under 21s World Championships back in 2010.

She also took bronze in the 2010-2012 CBDF National Amateur Latin Championships.

The dancer is an international star as she was a finalist on the Chinese version of So You Think You Can Dance.

She may also be recognised for performing in the West End and Broadway hit, Burn The Floor.

The star is on Instagram and she revealed to fans she is also a model who loves to travel the world.

She and her partner Rhys, who has already impressed the judges with his freestyle moves, have been entertaining fans.

Nancy shared a video of herself and Rhys in training, although they were sidetracked from their Waltz.

Instead, they busted some impressive freestyle moves and fan tayojay commented: “I absolutely love this! Your energies are so well suited in performance.”

The fierce duo will be tough competition as the first live show gets underway this weekend (September 25).

For Nancy to win the series with her first-ever partner would be a huge triumph, and it is definitely looking possible.

When her dance partner was revealed, Nancy said: “This boy is going to work so hard, I can’t wait.”

The pair joked they had come up with the nickname Team Rush Hour, after their favourite film.

Along with the Instagram post, Nancy said: “Can’t wait to start. We’ll work hard but we will have so much fun partner.”

The star has also given fans some insight into her personal life, including her relationships.

She seems to be dating Mikee Introna, a performer, actor and martial artist who is the founder of a combat academy.

Nancy is also co-founder of the London-based company, which also teaches self-defense.

Introna shared some photos of Nancy on his own Instagram account, saying: “Here we go again!

“Good luck to my one and only @nancy_xuxi for the new season of the best TV Show ever STRICTLY COME DANCING on @bbcstrictly @bbcone !!!.

“I can’t wait to see you!.. You’ll be my Earth Angel!!! Love you so much! Stay Tuned!!!”

On joining the Strictly cast, Nancy said: “On joining Strictly, Nancy said, “I cannot wait to start this new journey with all these amazing people and share the magic together.

“Thank you so much Strictly for one of the most beautiful birthday gifts ever, thank you for making my dream come true! This is a very special day.”

The sassy Chinese dancer is more than prepared to hit the floor with her partner, and they will be dancing to End Of The Road by Boys II Men.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One on Saturday, September 25 at 7pm.
