Michael Weatherly is best known for playing Agent Tony Dinozzo on CBS’ procedural drama NCIS. Ahead of the American national holiday, the actor took to Twitter to share a Thanksgiving message and received a ton of support from fans, as well as requests for him to return to NCIS.

Michael posted a video of himself on Twitter captioned: “Have a great Thanksgiving or celebration of gratitude wherever you are.

“It’s a beautiful world and we can never take it for granted.”

The clip was of him in a car as he said: “I wanted to say, from the set of Bull, Happy Thanksgiving, and well if you’re not in the United States and you’re wondering what I’m talking about.

“We’re grateful, have gratitude for this gift we call life, yeah like that, he concluded.”

The sweet message received a bunch of replies from fans sending their well-wishes as the holiday approaches.

This included HelenBarn8888, who wrote: “Happy Thanksgiving from the UK, there is so much beauty in the world when you take time to appreciate it.”

“Happy Thanksgiving Michael, God bless you & your family,” tweeted Amanda3cb.

JessicaKebric responded: “Happy thanksgiving for your family and you. And also for your entire Bull team. Have a good time and stay healthy and safe. Nice greetings from Germany.”

While EdithFroller added: “Wish you all the best, you are one of the best actors, stay healthy, Greetings from Austria best regards Edith.”

NCIS season 19 premiered on CBS in September and while Michael hasn’t starred on the show since 2015, fans believe he could make an unexpected comeback.

Tony Dinozzo (played by Michael Weatherly) left in season 13 after he discovered his lover Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) had been killed in Israel.

It was also revealed to viewers she had given birth to their daughter Tali, who he knew nothing about.

In order to support his daughter, Tony decided to leave NCIS to move to Paris and be with his Tali.

His main motivation for doing so was based on his own childhood after his mother died when he was eight years old.

As a child, Tony was left to be raised by his father who was an alcoholic and a fraudster who struggled to deal with his spouse’s dying

He gave fans an insight into his childhood when Tony revealed his father remarried numerous times then left Tony alone for 2 days when he was at a “business meeting”.

Since his departure from NCIS, Michael joined legal drama Bull in 2016 as Dr Jason Bull.

Despite this, many fans have since anticipated his return to the procedural series as he has never rejected the idea of making a comeback.

The actor hinted at a return back in 2018 when he tweeted: “I will always be ready to play DiNozzo when the time is right.”

Many thought Tony would return with the premiere of season 19 after posting a photo of himself in front of a camera, captioned: “#NCIS camera is king.”

Fans will have to stay tuned to see if Tony will eventually make a surprise return to NCIS and if he would make a comeback with his daughter.

NCIS season 19 continues every Monday on CBS.
