After an almost two-year wait for new episodes, Ozark season four finally has a confirmed premiere date on Netflix. The last fans saw of Marty (played by Jason Bateman) and Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney), they were reeling by the sudden execution of scheming lawyer Helen Pierce (Janet McTeer), left covered in her blood and stunned outside cartel leader Omar Navarro’s (Felix Solis) home. And the new trailer confirms fans will pick up right where they left off – and they don’t have that long to wait.
Jonah Byrde star Skylar Gaertner was one of the first Ozark stars to share the all-new trailer on his Instagram page.
Confirming the return of the drama, he penned alongside the clip: “There’s no turning back.
“Ozark Season 4 Part 1 premieres on…January 21, 2022,” followed by the hashtags: “#ozark #ozarkseason4 #netflix.”
But for those hoping the trailer would spell a happy ending for the Byrdes following their tumultuous ordeal with the Navarro Cartel and life of crime, it looks like they may be wrong.
The trailer opens with a voiceover from Marty as the camera pans over one of the Ozark’s lakes.
“Money is, at its essence, that measure of a man’s choices,” he ominously says before fans get their first peek at Ruth (Julia Garner) and Wyatt Langmore’s (Charlie Tahan) trailers from season four.
Teasing Ruth’s upcoming feud with Marty, a classic quote of hers is heard over the top: “Why do I have this feeling we both know that you’d be better off dead?”
And as if Ruth’s warning to Marty wasn’t enough to tease a potentially deadly storyline for the show’s leading man, fans get a stark reminder of Darlene Snell (Lisa Emery) and her rivalry with the Byrdes.
The season four promo cuts to the Snells’ farm as Darlene delivers the cutting warning: “Broken promises got consequences.”
The Byrdes’ casino then comes into show as a key Wendy passage from previous seasons is repeated to add to the seeming foreshadowing.
“Sometimes, if you don’t move forward, you die.,” Wendy can be heard saying over the promo.
The Byrde family home then appears on-screen before the trailer ends with a rare clip of Marty and Wendy from the opening of season four.

Ozark season 4: Marty rocked by return of Rachel in series finale?
All cleaned up after washing Helen’s remains off their bodies, the first-look at season four shows Wendy and Marty walking out of Omar’s house.
The pair have to put on a brave face right away as they’re confronted by Omar’s family and friends enjoying a birthday party.
“Today is a beginning,” Omar’s voice is heard overhead before the trailer cuts to black, teeing up a tantalising and potentially deadly arc for Marty in the show’s final run.
Needless to say, it didn’t take long for fans to react to the new trailer with their messages of excitement.
edurhein replied to Gaertner’s Instagram post: “Finally finally can’t wait [fire emoji].”
“Let’s go Skylar [love heart emoji],” carlsonsaccount added, while seantigheuk weighed in: “OMG cannot wait @skylargaertner.”
And mrs_niles71821 continued adding to the hype: “Omg I cannot wait!!! The best news ever! @skylargaertner.” (Sic)
