Peter Andre prepares for 'hard weeks' ahead as he begs fans to stay safe amid 'devastating' third national lockdown

PETER Andre has revealed that he is preparing for "hard weeks" ahead as he begged fans to stay safe amid the UK's third national lockdown.

The 47-year-old singer took to his Instagram page shortly after Prime Minister Boris Johnson addressed the nation this evening.

Sharing a screenshot of a news report on the new guidelines, the father-of-four wrote: "As a dad with kids of various ages attending school, and with Junior and children his age having their GSCEs put in jeopardy, this is gonna be a very hard number of weeks.

"All the vulnerable, those with mental health, hospitality, teachers….. retail, the list goes on. It’s absolutely devastating.

"Thinking of us all. Plse be safe everyone."

Peter knows better than most the devastation the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has caused, with his wife Emily a GP on the NHS frontline.

During the first lockdown, the Mysterious Girl hitmaker admitted to struggling as he took on the bulk of childcare and homeschooling while Emily continued working.

The pair share six-year-old Amelia and three-year-old Theo, with Peter also dad to 15-year-old Junior and 13-year-old Princess from his marriage to ex-wife Katie Price.

The star reflected on a challenging 2020 at the end of the year, writing at the time: "This year has reaffirmed just how much my family means to me.

"I always knew it, but being a teacher, nanny and cleaner while Emily was working on the frontline really brought it home.

"It was a challenge at times but it's something I'll never forget and I'm so proud of the kids for how they coped and how hard they worked."

Heaping praise on Emily directly, Peter continued: "The NHS is amazing and I'm so proud of Emily and all the people who've worked on the frontline during the pandemic.

"However soppy it sounds, she's kind of my hero."

The brunette beauty contracted coronavirus in April, and Pete concluded his piece by sharing his gratitude that his loved ones are now happy and healthy for Christmas.

He wrote: "After going through all that, I'm just thankful that we're ending the year with everyone being well."
