Piers Morgan clashes with new weatherman as Susanna Reid jumps to his defence

Piers Morgan blamed new Good Morning Britain weatherman Des Coleman after he was caught tucking his shirt into his trousers live on air.

The 55-year-old journalist was caught arriving late as Des finished his weather report early due to a technical blunder.

Piers clashed with the newcomer as his co-star Susanna Reid told him "it's not Des' fault…"

Morgan rushed on set at the start of Tuesday's episode, as he announced: "Sorry everybody, a little bit late today.

"Putting the old mic pack in, not really what you want to see at 6.30 in the morning is it?"

Susanna quickly chipped in: "Well, what a wonderful start to the programme."

Piers then turned on Des as he said: "It's not my fault!

"What's the name of the new weather guy? Des, where is he?"

Susanna rushed to the weather reporter's defence, stating: "It's not Des' fault, either!

"Morning Des, it's lovely to meet you."

Piers added: "Rule one mate, Des – you don't end early…"

Susanna insisted: "There was an angled shot that completely froze.

"There was nothing he could do."

Piers didn't hold back as in continued to lay into Des, ranting: "I suddenly heard, 'The weather guy's ended early.'

"I was like, 'What?! Why's he done that? Just keep talking about the weather!'"

Susanna added: "I have to say, Piers, do not blame the weather presenter, it's his first day."

A grinning Des wasn't fazed, as he replied: "Susanna, I love you, and Piers, it's my first day and you can't even cut a good looking young guy a break."

Piers said: "So far all I've heard you do is call yourself good looking.

"People who go on about how good looking they are tend to be speaking too much."

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
