Sophie Webster is involved in a violent accident in Coronation Street
Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) is sick with worry in Coronation Street next week when she receives word that Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent) has been involved in a violent accident.
The soap stalwart relays the news to Tim (Joe Duttine) in emotional scenes next Monday (January 10), explaining that Sophie has broken her wrist in a moped accident in Crete.
Will Sophie be okay?
The character was last seen on the cobbles two years ago, when she departed the eponymous street to go off on her travels after girlfriend Paula Martin (Stirling Gallacher) bought tickets for her.
In real-life, actress Brooke Vincent left the show to go on maternity leave. She gave birth to her first child, Mexx, with partner Kean Bryan on October 23 2019.
In November 2020, she confirmed that she was pregnant with her second baby, and in May 2021, she gave birth to another son, Monroe.
Taking to her social media page at the time, the 29-year-old shared a black-and-white photo of the newborn’s feet.
‘On the morning of Tuesday 4th May at 8.14am; the exact same time as his big brother .. our little boy came into the world,’ she captioned the upload.
Monroe S J Bryan you’ve added so much love & happiness to our little family!
‘Me, your daddy & big brother are all besotted with you.’
Brooke, 29, addressed her potential Corrie return last year, during a Q & A session on Instagram Video.
When asked about when she’ll be back in Weatherfield, she said: ‘I’m not too sure yet, as I didn’t take typical maternity.’
‘I’ve been on Corrie since I was 11 so it’s nice to have some time to be with my new baby and in our new home before going back. Hopefully not too long though.’
One to watch: Monday January 10 at 7:30pm on ITV.
