Spoilers: Will Ian die as Sharon finds his body in EastEnders?
Killing off Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) would be a bold move from EastEnders but this is the show which earlier this year killed off child character Dennis Rickman – and thus the Rickman bloodline in a boat crash so anything is possible.
Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) certainly fears the worst when she arrives at the Vic not long after the attacker has made their escape to find Ian left to die on the floor.
As she calls an ambulance and contacts Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) in a panic, they watch in horror as he is rushed to hospital – and he is in a bad way.
The storyline will facilitate a temporary exit for Adam so it seems like Ian is destined to survive – but whoever went for him was certainly keen to kill him as they have left him with his life hanging in the balance.
Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) is soon on the case and, before long, an arrest is made – but when new evidence surfaces, his attentions are diverted to a new suspect.
Could his own brother Max (Jake Wood) be responsible? It wouldn’t be the first time Max would be linked with killing a Beale, but to be fair, he was innocent when Lucy was the victim.
He isn’t the only one bearing a grudge – even Ian’s own family, including Peter (Dayle Hudson) is gunning for him while Dotty Cotton (Milly Zero) is no fan at all since he claimed she was lying about the death of Dennis.
Hot headed Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) and equally impulsive Stuart Highway (Ricky Champ) are also on the list of people wanting revenge.
Will Ian survive to expose who tried to kill him?
