After A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back and The Return of the Jedi, there weren’t any new Star Wars films for 16 years. When George Lucas brought the prequel trilogy to the big screen in 1999 he told the story of how Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader. The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith were criticised for a number of reasons, however, including the aforementioned CGI and the inclusion of characters such as Jar Jar Binks. But Hamill recently praised the films’ creativity.
