Stranger Things bosses hint season 4 will focus on search for Hopper as they leave fans reeling with string of clues – The Sun

STRANGER Things left fans with a major cliff-hanger at the end of season 3.

The celebrated sci-fi series was renewed for another series last month and clearly show bosses are keen to make the most of the hype.

So far fans have only had a teaser clip and some pictures from filming to go on, but the coming weeks will see all manner of clues dropped courtesy of the Stranger Things writers’ social media.

They announced on Twitter that once a week, they will be listing a series of films with connections to season 4 of Stranger Things.

“INTRODUCING: Video Store Fridays!” the post read.

“Every Friday, I will list 5 movies the writers talked about during the week,” it went on.

“All of these movies relate in some way or another to season four!

“You ready or what demonerds?”

Suffice to say the answer to that question was a resounding yes, judging by the comments.

The first list consisted of throwback hits: The Peanut Butter Solution, The Fisher King, Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey, You’ve Got Mail and Ordinary People.

Delving into the titles, it seems The Fisher King and Ordinary People could point to the new location of the season, following Joyce’s decision to leave Hawkins.

Both films depict protagonists who have moved to be cities for a fresh start after dealing with trauma.

Does this mean we could see a more urban landscape replacing the suburbia the characters have resided in up until now?

What’s more, the films also centre around their leads’ battles with guilt after playing a part in someone’s death.

It’s not too difficult to draw parallels on this front, given that Joyce was the one to trigger the explosion that saw Hopper disappear.

Perhaps there’ll be a focus on her survivor’s guilt and sense of accountability in the wake of closing the rift to the Upside Down.

The Fisher King and Ordinary People also have a focus on searching and reconnecting, which hints that the hunt for Hopper could be in focus in the upcoming season.

The post comes after Hopper actor David Harbour blurted out the fate of his character during a Saturday Night Live sketch.

Before that, he ended up calling show producers the Duffer Brothers during a live interview to demand answers about the fate of his sheriff alter ego.

Stranger Things seasons 1-3 are available to stream on Netflix.
