Stranger Things season 4: Hopper faces huge change as star drops resurrection bombshell?

Stranger Things fans have been eager to know if Hopper is the American prisoner referred to in the Post-credit scene. Now it really seems he could return next season. However, the star has revealed this would require quite a lot of change for the Hawkins police chief.

While the identity of the mystery “American” referred to in the post-credit scene is yet to be revealed, many fans speculate it could be Hopper (played by David Harbour) in hope the fan-favourite has escaped death somehow.

While Hopper star David Harbour is yet to reveal whether he really is “The American” or not, he has revealed that Hopper would have to be a changed man.

Speaking to latimes.com, the Hopper star began by staying one the one hand, Hopper should be dead, as he would be able to reunite with his daughter Sara.

He explained: “One way it could be viewed is he has to die to make it up to [his daughter] Sara and see her in the afterlife.

“The other view is that because of this newfound relationship with Eleven [Millie Bobby Brown], he needs to shed his skin, make a sacrifice that allows his character to re-emerge.

“He was finally able to really take a bullet for a child, which he had never been able to do because Sara died of cancer.

Did Hopper’s sacrifice mark the beginning of a changed man ready to remerge for season four?

The actor even went on to tease a “resurrection” for the newfound Hopper.

He went on: “Now whether or not there’s some sort of second-act resurrection would be very interesting to me, clearly, for obvious reasons,”

“The fact that I desperately love the show and desperately love the character… but that remains to be seen.

“He would certainly have to emerge a different individual.”

Meanwhile, fans still have some ideas about characters that were killed off earlier on in the show, including this one about Bob Newby (Sean Astin) living a double life.
