Strictly Come Dancing: week five – live | The Sun

STRICTLY Come Dancing returns to our screens tonight and Tyler West has revealed the "dangers" of competing in the show.

Tyler has become a fan favourite on the BBC dance competition, however he has admitted to suffering a couple of low blows from his Strictly partner, Dianne Buswell.

Tyler told The Sun: “I’ve been kicked in my golden glitter balls so many times, I cannot tell you!

“You go through trials and tribulations, things are bruised that perhaps shouldn’t be, but it’s the dangers of doing Strictly.

Tyler went on to reveal the key to surviving the show, saying: “Also I’ve had a session in a cryo chamber. I hate the cold but it helps with muscle recovery and I’m going to need that to survive.”

The scores for the couple are:

    Craig: 8

    Motsi: 9

    Shirley: 9

    Anton: 9

That's 36 for the couple. Not as good as last week, but a fine score.

Hamza and Jowita impress for the natural world

Hamza and Jowita are celebrating the natural world in their dance.

And the pair aren't putting a hair wrong.

They are dancing to On Top of the World by Imagine Dragons.

Their lines are clean, the footwork dazzling and eye-wateringly technical.

They are thoroughly, thoroughly enjoying themselves.

Another smashing should be on the cards, surely?

  • Joseph Gamp

Molly & Carlos scores are in!

The scores for the pair are:

    Craig: 6

    Motsi: 8

    Shirley: 8

    Anton: 8

A total of 30 for Molly and Carlos.

  • Joseph Gamp

Mollie and Carlos doing a Couple's Choice to Grange Hill

Go for it – they're dancing to Grange Hill!

But since when was the show set to such a bad-ass funk tune.

    Yes!

Again this one is very surreal and bizarre to watch.

  • Joseph Gamp

Scores for Nikita and Ellie in!

    Craig: 7

    Motsi: 8

    Shirley: 8

    Anton: 8

A grand total of 30 for Ellie and Nikita (we think that's a bit too low tbh)

  • Joseph Gamp

Anton says it was a tremendous dance

And he's right, Nikita and Ellie were sensational.

He also said that the drama and the mood were electric.

  • Joseph Gamp

Ellie and Nikita had 'some beautiful moments'

Shirley says the couple found some 'beautiful moments'

She is nothing but complimentary to the couple.

The head judge says Ellie was 'phenomenal" and made the dance "her own".

  • Joseph Gamp

Nikita and Ellie do a Pasa Doble to The Apprentice

The pair have struck up a very close friendship.

Let's hope that chemistry is still there for their interpretation of The Apprentice.

Scores are in for James and Amy

James Bye and Amy Dowden scored:

    Craig: 6

    Motsi: 7

    Shirley: 6

    Anton: 7.

That's a grand total of 26 for James and Amy.

Judges critical of James Bye's posture

Motsi says the couple struggled with the close contact parts of the dance.

She believes they can achieve a higher skill of ballroom dancing parts.

Meanwhile, Shirley said James' posture mean he kept leaning back and how correct posture is key in any of the dances.

Anton said there was "a lot to like" – but it needs "neatening up".

Craig didn't like the dance – but he said he "knows" James can do better.

  • Joseph Gamp

EastEnders' James Bye and Amy dancing to the sad tune from… EastEnders

The song, in case you don't know, is called Julia's theme.

You'll recognise the sad beginning from when a big character leaves the show- and walks into the sunset.

And then it's the doof doofs – with a rather different take on a traditional tango.

Lovely – if a bit weird – stuff.James has definitely improved though.

  • Joseph Gamp

Scores in for Fleur and Vito!

    They are…

    Craig: 7.0

    Motsi: 8.0

    Shirly: 9.0

    Anton: 8.0

  • Joseph Gamp

    Anton criticises Fleur

Anton says fleur was a bit heavy footed – a bit harsh we think!

He says she is continuing to show improvement, however.

  • Joseph Gamp

They're doing a rocking version of Waterloo

They even had Graham Norton intro them in during a little voiceover cameo.

This strong pair both have permanent smiles on their faces.

Fleur is looking confident with her talent as her and Vito bring the song to life with an exuberant dance.

    More of that, please!

  • Joseph Gamp

Fleur & Vito are jiving to celebrate Eurovision

Another solid gold crowd-pleaser coming up.

They'll be dancing to Abba too, celebrating their success and the launch pad that is the inter-continental music competition.

  • Joseph Gamp

    Scores for Tyler are in

    They are:

    Craig: 8.0

    Motsi: 8.0

    Shirley: 8.0

    Anton: 8.0

Grand total of 32. Not a bad score at all.

  • Joseph Gamp

Tyler is 'an incredible talent' says Anton

Anton thought it was tremendous – but thought it "could go wrong at any moment".

He thinks Tyler pushed it so far to the edge – but it "looked incredible".

He says he needs to be "pushed" as he's an "incredible talent".

Craig says Tyler needs to stick his bottom in, though.

  • Joseph Gamp

A very intense tango from Dianne and Tyler West

We think this dance, very strong and powerful, will sit well with the judges.

Personally, I find the theme music quite jarring and it's obviously quite hard to dance to, but it was a stunning and confident routine nonetheless.

  • Joseph Gamp

Tyler West and Dianne doing a Tango to Doctor Who?

Look forward to seeing how this will turn out!

The DJ legend and proBuswell will be treating us I'm sure.

  • Joseph Gamp

    Moira Stewart returns!

The TV legend is telling us how to vote for our favourite acts tonight.

But even a seasoned professional like Moira sometimes feels the pressure after fumbling words about the QR code

  • Joseph Gamp

Shirley says Helen is' setting trend for the evening'

She said Helen and Gorka were "absolutely amazing, while Anton says Helen's confidence seems 'much better".

Their lines are cleaner and sharper says Du Beke – and even nasty ol' Craig says he enjoyed the "confident, energising dance".

In fact Craig says it's the best they've ever danced!

  • Joseph Gamp

    Helen Skelton's Charleston routine

Yup, Gorka and Helen are paying homage to one of the world's oldest children's TV shows- Blue Peter.

It's quite surreal watching two people dance about in dungarees and making sailor salutes.

  • Joseph Gamp

Who's going to knock our socks off this evening?

Who is going to storm the leaderboard this week?

Last week, Hamza and Jowita won the highest score of the series so far, 39.

Tonight's first dance is coming up shortly – a Charleston from Helen Skelton and partner Gorka Marquez

  • Joseph Gamp

Strictly begins! And if you can't tell it's BBC week

The professionals just touched on EastEnders and Doctor Who in their opening routine.

Yup – it's the BBC's birthday week, so no clues as to what tonight's dance routines will represent!

  • Louis Allwood

    Excitement builds

Excitement is building among fans this evening as tonight's show is just hours away.

One fan said: "Really looking forward to the show tonight, but still gutted Matt Goss has gone. Great achievement 100 years of the BBC."

A second added: " Excited to see who will go out this week on strictly come dancing."
