Strictly fans fuming as they accuse BBC finale of snubbing Tilly Ramsay
Strictly Come Dancing fans have been left disappointed over the finale, with some claiming Tilly Ramsay was snubbed after she was unable to attend.
Tilly, 20, told her 1.2million Instagram followers earlier this week that she would miss the final due to health reasons.
She wrote: “So sad to be missing the Strictly final – but sadly have tested positive for Covid so will be watching from my sofa and cheering on the amazing finalists from home on Saturday night."
“Wishing everyone lots of love and good luck x Tilly,” she added.
Finalist John Whaite responded: “Love you Tilly. Will miss you this weekend pal. But cannot wait for the tour xx."
This wasn't enough for some viewers, who noticed that Tilly only featured briefly in a video montage of this year's highlights.
Some took to Twitter to say she should have been given more air time.
One said: "I understand Tilly Ramsay has Covid but she should have been included in the highlights and could have recorded her VT from home, it’s almost likes she’s been airbrushed out!"
Another said: "It doesn’t make any sense that Tilly doesn’t figure prominently in the montage."
"I know Tilly has tested positive for Covid but they haven’t even mentioned her, which is a shame," mused a third.
Tilly's fellow class of 2021 celebrity Robert Webb – who had to drop out of the show under doctor's orders – was also unable to take part in the final.
Meanwhile, viewers and members of the Strictly family expressed their support and sympathy for AJ Odudu, who had to withdraw from the final after tearing a ligament in her right ankle.

Speaking to host Claudia Winkleman, an emotional AJ said: "Honestly, Claudia, I don't know how to describe what it feels like to have a broken heart. But that's what it feels like," she began before breaking down.
EastEnders star Rose Ayling-Ellis ended up winning the show with her pro partner Giovanni Pernice.
