The Masked Dancer to kick off on ITV next week – and the guesses are already flooding in
THE Masked Dancer will kick off on ITV next week – and the guesses are already flooding in.
Hot on the heels of The Masked Singer, the new incarnation of the show will see a new crop of mystery celebrities hide behind 12 bizarre characters as they show off their moves.
The show will see Masked Singer judges Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan joined on the panel by Strictly ace Oti Mabuse as they try to figure out who's behind the mask.
The series, which will once again be hosted by Joel Dommett, will start on Saturday, May 29 at 7pm on ITV.
Fans of the original are already trying to work out who the celebrities are from their promo pictures in character.
Taking to Twitter, one wrote: "Are you looking forward to #TheMaskedDancer @AntonyCosta? Just seen an advert for it and thought of you."
Another tweeted: "#TheMaskedDancer Don't be surprised if you see numerous ex-strictly celebs or pro dancers turning up on this show!"
A third added: "Wonder if @glenofthepower had that word with @thescript Mark to persuade him to do #TheMaskedDancer. I can totally picture him as the dog."
Other names that have been thrown into the mix already include Phillip Schofield, Stephen Mulhern and even Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
The Sun previously revealed how the celebrities taking part could fall victim to a Strictly-style curse — as they get up close and personal with sexy professionals.
Many of those taking part in the show deliver routines that see them getting very close with their pro. And they will stay in a Covid-safe bubble throughout the series.
It means there is a strong possibility of romance — just like when Seann Walsh was pictured kissing his then-married pro Katya Jones on Strictly in 2018.
The Masked Dancer begins on Saturday, May 29 at 7pm on ITV.
