The secret clues Jesy Nelson tried to hide as cracks showed in Little Mix's friendship before quitting the band
IT started out as an amicable split, but cracks have begun to show in Little Mix's friendships just six months on.
Announcing she was stepping away to take time out from the gruelling schedule and limelight, Jesy Nelson praised her bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards, and Jade Thirlwall for "creating some of the most amazing memories I'll never forget".
But The Sun has since revealed Jesy now doesn’t want to stay pals with Little Mix and won’t work with them again.
It comes after her surprise decision to launch a solo career so quickly after wanting a break.
Now, sources say the girls only communicate via third parties.
Here we take a look at the secret clues that friendships within Little Mix were on the brink before Jesy quit the band.
Secret arguments backstage
IN 2019, the girl group denied arguments in the band, insisting they "can't be bothered" to fight.
But they did admit they sometimes clash over what song to release on their albums.
Jade said: "Obviously sometimes we disagree on who prefers what songs the most, but we are pretty much on the same page and, at the end of the day, we all want to have a song that we love so we all have to be happy."
But in Jesy’s latest bombshell interview with Cosmopolitan, she claimed there would be secret disagreements about what they would wear on stage.
Reflecting on her new life outside the band, Jesy said: "I don’t have to worry about having a music video or doing an interview wearing an outfit that I don’t want to wear because three other girls want to wear it."
The 29-year-old went on to describe her time in the group as a source of great unhappiness.
Nights out as a trio without Jesy
IN 2017, Leigh-Anne, Jade and Perrie had a girls' night out together – and Jesy was nowhere to be seen.
Explaining why at the time, Leigh-Anne insisted that Jesy was "pre-occupied" with her boyfriend.
But there were a number of nights out that Jesy chose to avoid, showing she spent less time with the girls outside of work.
Jesy has always insisted she would dodge certain events because of her mental health.
The starlet has always set the record straight however, confirming that she’s been absent from shows and public appearances as a result of her mental health.
Now the girls are said not to be speaking – with a source close to Jesy confirming she has put a block on all direct personal contact with the band, and has not spoken to her former pals for several months.
The insider said: “The plan was always to stay in touch but that just hasn’t happened because Jesy didn’t want it.
“She wants to sever ties and start again — that seems to be both professionally and personally.”
Jesy was cropped out a photo
EVEN when they did go out together as a trio, fans spotted one ocasion when Perrie cropped Jesy out of a photo after the band won the Favourite Global Music Star at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.
Explaining why online, Perrie said: "Jesy is cropped out the picture because she doesn't like any of the photos!"
A couple of weeks later, Jesy denied there was any bad blood between her and Perrie.
She said: “So, we just want to address the situation of the friendship between me and Perrie.
"Do you think I’d be lying alone in her bed if I wasn’t friends with her?”
Wearing matching outfits
AS a girlband, Little Mix have always been styled to co-ordinate as a four-piece.
Despite always being praised for their glamorous and sexy looks, Jesy has since spoken out about having freedom to wear what she wants now.
It signals problems behind closed doors about being told what to wear because Leigh-Anne, Perrie and Jade had chosen it.
Jesy admitted: "I don’t have to worry about having a music video or doing an interview wearing an outfit that I don’t want to wear because three other girls want to wear it.
“Sometimes, I felt like I was coming into an environment, sometimes, where people didn’t want me to be there.
“Sometimes I wasn’t a positive energy because I was so down. When you feel that way anyway, to be around certain people on my team that didn’t want me there was hard."
