Eddie Marsan
Eddie Marsan will star in the new drama and will play the lead character of John Darwin.
Eddie's most recent TV appearances includes BBC One's Ridley Road where he played Soly Malinovsky alongside stars such as Aggi O'Casey and Rory Kinnear.
He also appeared in another BBC drama called The Pact which follows the journey of five friends bound together by a pact of silence.
Monica Dolan
Monica Dolan will star alongside Eddie Marsan as the character Anne Darwin.
Anne Darwin, John's wife, is the one responsible for carrying out the near £1m insurance, property and pension scam by claiming her husband was lost at sea.
Monica Dolan won a Bafta for Best Actress in 2012 for her role in Appropriate Adult as Rosemary West and recently starred in A Very English Scandal.

Karl is best known for starring in Ricky Gervais' hilarious reality show An Idiot Abroad.

Dominic Applewhite
Dominic Applewhite will star as Anthony Darwin in the new crime drama.
Anthony Darwin is the second son of the couple and brother of Mark.
Dominic has become known for his roles in hit comedy dramas such as the Inbetweeners and Sex Education.
When does The Thief, His Wife and The Canoe air on ITV?
The engaging story of how John Darwin and his wife Anne faked his death was written by screenwriter Chris Lang.
ITV shared with The Sun the drama will air in April 2022.
An exact release date is yet to be announced.
Once each episode has aired, episodes will be available to watch on the ITV Hub.
