This Morning’s new start time causes major confusion – and viewers spot blunder

Confusion reigned during today's This Morning due to the brand new start time.

The beloved daytime TV show started at the earlier time of 10am this morning – giving fans an extra 30 minutes of Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.

The presenters joked that viewers must be "sick of them" as they will have been on our screens for 4.5 hours in just two days with their Dancing On Ice and This Morning hosting duties.

Some baffled viewers confessed they thought they were late for work or that the clocks were behind when they saw the show was on.

And one eagle-eyed viewer spotted a blunder as it still said the start time was 10.30am on Holly's phone during the opening titles.

Opening the show, Holly said: "This feels really weird. We're only 30 minutes ealirer. It's the same show but it feels like we’ve never done this before."

To mark the historic day, Alison Hammond rang the bells at Liverpool Cathedral to celebrate.

Phillip added: "With our extra time it means we can do more of what we love most – and that’s talking to you."

Taking to Twitter , one viewer confessed: "I thought I was late for work you scared me starting your show this early lol"

"To my surprise #ThisMorning now starts at 10am, I thought maybe my clocks were behind," added another.

A third said: "I notice they haven’t been arsed to change the credits and Holly’s phone still says “This Morning, Weekdays from 10:30am”!!!! Who’s in charge of credits and editing? Get them fired immediately!"

There were also some complaints about the content on offer during the extra half an hour.

One annoyed viewer said: "So they’re basically going to fill this extra half an hour with complete and utter twaddle"

"Are #ThisMorning going to just fill the extra half an hour by slowing down there talking," joked another.

A third sarcastically added: "Well this well worth the extra half hour isn’t it:

This Morning tweeted to alert viewers to the new start time this morning ahead of the start of the show.

They wrote: "It's Monday morning, and @Schofe & @hollywills are back for our BRAND NEW starting time of 10am! See you straight after @lorraine on @ITV & @WeAreSTV!"

During a link of Lorraine, Phillip thanked Lorraine Kelly for sending over a present in honour of their new start time.

Holly said: "Lorraine you know the way to our hearts with these cakes."

Giggling Lorraine replied: "Its shameless bribery. I was up all night making those. If you believe that you'll believe anything."
