Wendy Williams denies lesbian romance with Whitney Houston's ex Robyn Crawford: 'I like men'
WENDY Williams has denied having a lesbian romance with Whitney Houston's ex lover Robyn Crawford, defiantly telling fans: "I like men and I like the D."
The 55-year-old star addressed the speculation during today's episode of The Wendy Williams Show – one week after reports emerged that she and 56-year-old Robyn had struck up a relationship following Robyn's appearance on the chat show earlier this month.
Speaking out today, Wendy stated: "I am no lesbian. I like women for friendship. I like men and I like the D."
Referencing Radar Online's initial report, she continued: "They title the article: 'Wendy's been looking for female companionship and Whitney's rolling over in her grave because Wendy has found it in Robyn Crawford'.
"I'm like, first of all, I'm not down with that. All due respect to the lesbians.
"And Robyn is married, she's got kids and I'm not a homewrecker."
The TV veteran went on to insist that she has never doubted her sexuality, adding: "I've never even been curious. It's so complicated being a woman, I can’t imagine two of us in a relationship.
"Yesterday after the show, I got the surprise of my life, at 55 I got a period. I can’t deal with two women!"
Wendy is recently single after splitting from her husband of 22 years, Kevin Hunter, in April.
She filed divorce papers after learning he'd fathered a child with another woman.
Robyn appeared on Wendy's chat show at the start of the month to promote her memoir, A Song For You: My Life With Whitney Houston, which recounts her romantic relationship with the late star.
Wendy regularly reported on speculation surrounding Robyn and Whitney's relationship, with the host telling Robyn: "It all came true. A lot of what I said is in this book. A lot of things I said were in this book."
Robyn first met Whitney in 1980 and the book claims that they were lovers for two years as teenagers.
She wrote: "It wasn't all about our sleeping together. We could trust each other with our secrets, our feelings, and who we were.
"We were friends, we were lovers. We were everything to each other. We weren't falling in love. We just were. We had each other. We were one: that's how it felt."
They broke off the romance when Whitney signed her record deal, with Whitney allegedly handing Robyn a bible as she expressed concern about what their relationship could do to her public image.
However, the two women remained good friends and Robyn was devastated when the iconic singer passed away in 2012 at the age of 48.
She is now married to wife Lisa, who she shares 10-year-old twins with.
