WWE legend Paige begs for Coronation Street role – as the soap follows her back on social media

WWE legend Paige has begged Coronation Street bosses to give her a role on the soap.

The wrestler hasn't been able to do her day job for two years since being forced to retire due to injury, but she's set on making herself a soap star.

She tweeted: "For all my brits out here.. @itvcorrie just followed me and could NOT be happier, throw me in an episode Corrie Orrieeee."

Corrie then replied to say they had sent her a direct message on Instagram sparking major excitement.

The star's fans were overjoyed at the possibility of her walking the cobbles.

One wrote: "Ok, this is amazing. We love Corrie here.

"@itvcorrie do yourself a huge favour & get this talented lady onto the cobbles. Ratings would go trough the roof."

A second said: "This is something I want to see. @RealPaigeWWE in Corrie."

Another added: "Damn that's cool not watched corrie since May but I'd watch if I found out @RealPaigeWWE was in it."

Coronation Street has had its fair share of famous faces walking its famous cobbles over the years.

Sir Ian McKellen, Joanna Lumley and comedy legend Peter Kay have all made appearances.

Prince Charles even toured the Rovers as part of the 40th anniversary live episode back in 2000.

Coronation Street has been contacted for comment.
