Katya Jones, 32, and Adam Peaty, 26, are set to dance the Jive on the next instalment of Strictly Come Dancing. Ahead of their week eight performance on Saturday, BBC bosses shared an insight into the couple’s rehearsals on Twitter. However, the clip revealed a huge error the Olympian made ahead of an intense training session which forced Katya to snap at him.

Adam and Katya are set to dance the Jive to Little Bitty Pretty One by Frankie Lymon & The Teenagers on Saturday night.

Ahead of their performance, BBC bosses shared a hilarious video of many of this year’s competitors training with their professional partners in the studio.

While most of the footage was light-hearted, a clip of Adam and Katya’s training session saw the Russian clap back at the Olympic swimmer.

During the clip, Adam told Katya that he was a “bit bloated” when he arrived in the studio which did not sit well with Katya.

Katya snapped at the gold medalist: “I keep telling you to stop eating so much when we’re about to dance – but you never listen.”

The pro dancer told the camera Adam had scoffed down a chicken burger, chicken wrap, french fries, and a hot chocolate with espresso before their training session.

Adam was sheepish and admitted he’d also eaten an oat bar as well as the food Katya reeled off to the camera.

A disappointed Katya added: “Oh no.”

This Saturday’s Strictly marks the halfway point of this year’s series, so the competition is set to really heat up for the nine remaining couples.

Last weekend, Adam and Katya found themselves in the dreaded dance-off during Halloween Week.

The swimmer admitted that he didn’t expect to be in the bottom two when he appeared on Tuesday’s It Takes Two.

They were in the dance-off with comedian Judi Love and Graziano Di Prima.

Luckily for Adam, the judges chose to save him and Katya, and they sent Loose Women panellist Judi home.

During his, It Takes Two appearance Adam spoke to host Rylan about his close call after dancing the Viennese waltz.

Adam explained: “It’s unfortunate that we ended up in the dance-off. I mean, I’m still carrying a bit of baggage from the weekend because it was tough to go to the dance-off.

“And when the red light comes on, you’re like, ‘Oh no I’ve gotta go straight over to Tess [Daly] and talk about it’.

“Because it was so unexpected because I thought, ‘You know what? 29 solid’,” he continued, referring to his score.

“But it just shows you no one is safe in this show, and I’ve got to find my confidence again now in this Jive and go, ‘You know what, I do deserve to be here – I think’.”

Looking ahead to this weekend Katya told the It Takes Two host that Adam’s face “lights up” during rehearsals for their Jive.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday on BBC One at 6.45pm.
